@KhitouchYousra Your blog looks amazing! I really love your overall theme of relationships and human rights - I feel like they’re two really important topics that we need to discuss more so thanks for speaking up about them! #ccom315#315blogs
@lynnclauryorphe @ArianaGrande I love how your blog looks! The pop of colour added to the white background makes everything super easy to read while still maintaining interest- great job :) #ccom315#315blogs
Just finished my final blog post! It’s basically a master list of songs to take you through the highs and lows of 2020 - feel free to give it a read :) #ccom315 https://t.co/8U0Tx1CLqz
#iCarly is another example of #writingtheinternet with Sam, Carly and Freddy running a show called iCarly and posting it on their website for people to see. They would have guests come in to be interviewed, create dances and talk about life for their audience #315slides
After watching videos on the #futureofwriting, I found that many people agree on the fact that online resources such as Wikipedia will expand and more information will be accessible/free for the general public #ccom315
The movie Searching is a good example of writing the internet, as it centres around a father relying on clues from social media to find his missing daughter #315slides
I feel like depending on how invested you are in social media will determine whether the benefits outweigh the pressures. It also depends on what you gain or lose when interacting online, which all comes down to how you perceive yourself in light of the online world
When navigating the “always on” lifestyle, I don’t find it too hard to take a break and log out of social media. When thinking of social media influencers, their job revolves around always being “on”, which can often lead to burnout as a consequence #315slides
This automatically made me think that the topic wasn’t relevant, which in turn decreased my interest. That’s why I believe it’s Wikipedia’s duty to adequately write about (almost) every topic under the sun
Given that Wikipedia often shows up as the first source when you search something on the internet, it would make sense for it to have articles on virtually everything due to its massive presence online. #315slides
This is why I agree with the statement that we have a responsibility as a society to include articles on everything. I remember clicking on a Wikipedia article about a certain topic and only getting a paragraph of information
@Sarah_cuv I agree! Wikipedia is a really good foundation for a lot of topics. That being said, it seems as though laziness can come into play when people use Wikipedia as their only source of info instead of fact checking with other sources, which can be a problem
This means that we can spread false information if we don’t take the time to thoroughly read and verify the credibility of the article we’re reading. This isn’t the case for everyone, but many people can read a shocking headline and run with it.
I’ve found that a popular way that fake news circulates is due to the pure laziness of the reader not fact-checking. Even though our generation has a very high degree of digital literacy, we are also programmed to have a very short attention span. #315fakenews
