friends, check it out! i'm so proud of the 200+ (!) young Wellington poets who contributed to this bastion of joy and creativity, and prouder still that the library could be part of bringing that awesomeness into the world.
Tūhono 2021 is out & available to borrow from OverDrive & Libby. We collected over 200 poems from young writers aged 5-18 on the theme of ‘whakaata – reflection.’ We had so many submissions that we split Tūhono into two volumes: poems by kids aged 5-12; poems by kids aged 13-18.
Earlier this week we had the pleasure of installing the first ever Tūhono exhibition! Our Tūhono poetry journal features poems written by Wellington kids and teens, and our sparkling new exhibition includes just a few of the incredible submissions we’ve received over the years.

Exciting news! We have a brand new programme, Reading to Kurī!
Each Thursday during the school holidays, kids can book a session to read to one of our doggy pals from Canine Friends Pet Therapy.
