In my opinion, with the depth of field issues with TV cameras and no definitive camera angles of his swing path, there cannot be conclusive video evidence that Bryson improved his lie or swing path. In cases like this the benefit of doubt should go to the player. I don't like this decision.

This is truly insane. I’m not a huge Bryson fan, but there’s absolutely no way you can tell from the video whether he improved his lie. If they rule against him here, I don’t know how you see it as anything other than them applying a standard to Bryson they’re not applying to the rest of the field.

Rory total distance into Nos. 8-9: 85 yards

This has almost nothing to do with Rory being longer than Xander but rather that you can play holes at Birkdale so many different ways. Should give chasers of the lead extra hope going into the weekend and is a fun feature of this particular major.
