There is a clamor for a nationwide protest/revolution against the administration of Tinubu. This is as a result of high food prices, high transportation costs, increased fuel prices, increased fx rate making it difficult for businesses to buy raw materials, a non-existent electricity, insecurity of lives and properties and the utmost wanton looting/corruption going on in Ministries, States, National Assembly, Presidency and embarrassingly, the Judiciary.
We were forced to accept undemocratic leadership against our wishes by the corrupt Nigerian judiciary and we the people have been suffering for it. According to reports, the corrupt Nigerian judiciary sits at the top of 2023 bribe receipt worth over N700billion. How are we supposed to move forward as a country where the judiciary is compromised? Nigeria deserves better judges.
During the last protest, the military went ultra vires its powers by opening fire on civilians at the behest of the government. Over 100 people are reported to be dead and many more injured. Still, the corrupt Nigerian judiciary failed to give justice to the families of the bereaved nor hold accountable the people behind the killings.
Since the transition of power from PDP to APC, there has been overt abuse of the constitution and the corrupt Nigerian judiciary have looked the other way. The recent carpet-crossing of 25 Rivers law makers to APC after taking the oath of office is in contravention of the constitution but the court has turned the other way by ruling on technicalities. Nigerians deserve better judges. It is really embarrassing.
Thus, if we are going to protest again, we do that knowing that we have to take the country in our hands and sacrifice our lives for it. We are already dying of hunger and starvation. The country will eventually kill us but we have to ask ourselves if we want to die by hunger or by revolution.
The corrupt Nigerian judiciary does not care about you. There should be no turning back. I admonish that we begin with a protest against the judiciary and hold them accountable in whatever form and means. They need to feel the anger of the masses. Then we aim the protest at removing the entire members of the present administration and call for new elections rather than just focusing on removing the President by bringing the country to a standstill, which leaves us with a Vice President that in a working system, would never near a position of national leadership.
We cannot do any of this without a working independent judiciary. Nigeria deserves better judges and so we must protest.
