More than 65 towns and villages in Lebanon are still under Israeli occupation and are undergoing daily illegal civilian home and infrastructure demolitions.
🇾🇪🇸🇦💰 The $100 Billion Bleed
The Financial Cost
The Yemeni strikes have targeted the arteries of the Saudi economy: the East-West pipeline, Aramco facilities in Yanbu, Jizan, and Najran, and oil infrastructure in Riyadh itself. The damage has been physical, verifiable, and severe.
Aramco’s losses alone are staggering. A single major attack on Aramco facilities cost Saudi Arabia an estimated $645 billion** in value, wiping out nearly half of Aramco’s production capacity 5.7 million barrels per day. The company’s market value plummeted from £1.5 trillion to £1.1 trillion as a direct result. The Jazan refinery complex, a $21 billion projecwas among the facilities targeted.
The Saudi regime is now scrambling for survival. Riyadh is seeking $50 billion in loans to cover its ballooning financial deficit, a deficit that has “begun to manifest with the continuation of the Yemeni operation against its facilities”. Saudi Arabia pre-sold 100 million barrels of oil to India, Japan, and China, but now faces “major complications” in delivering it because the East-West pipeline the only route to bypass the blockaded Strait of Hormuz has been repeatedly struck and shut down.
The Strategic Cost
The cost is not just financial. It is strategic. Saudi Arabia’s crude exports have fallen to 3 million barrels per day, the lowest level in at least 13 years. Both of Saudi Arabia’s maritime lifelines the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait are now under threat. Ansar Allah has completed its takeover of Yemen’s Red Sea coast, seizing Mocha and the islands of Perim, Zuqar, and Hanish, which command the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
Saudi Arabia is being strangled, and it cannot stop it.
👑 The Regime’s Impotence
The Military Failure
Saudi Arabia spent $83.2 billion on its military last year one of the highest military budgets in the world. It has American F-15s, Patriot missile batteries, THAAD systems, and AWACS aircraft. It has the most expensive air defense network in the region.
And it could not stop a single Yemeni drone.
On September 19, explosions rocked Riyadh. Air raid sirens the first in the capital since July sent residents into panic. A fire erupted in an Aramco fuel tank near King Khalid International Airport. Flights were cancelled and delayed, with the airport’s disruption index hitting the maximum level of 5.0.
How did the Saudis respond? By admitting they failed. The Saudi-led coalition said its air defenses “intercepted and destroyed” missiles targeting Riyadh but the explosions, the fire, and the chaos on the ground told a different story. The Yemeni military spokesman, Yahya Saree, confirmed that the strikes hit their intended targets: “sensitive sites” in Riyadh and Aramco facilities in Yanbu.
The Intelligence Failure
The Saudi military failed at the most basic level: detecting the threat. According to reports, the Saudis failed to detect the movement of 100,000 Yemeni fighters massing for the offensive. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and other analysts have pointed to the “inefficiency of a military organization that prioritizes loyalty to the royal family over competence” as a root cause of the failure.
The Economic Paralysis
The strikes have forced Saudi Arabia to shut down the East-West pipeline the 1,200-kilometer artery that carries oil from the eastern fields to the Red Sea port of Yanbu. This pipeline was Saudi Arabia’s only option to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, which is effectively closed by the US-Iran confrontation. Now it is closed too.
Saudi Arabia is not winning this war. It is not even fighting it effectively. It is being bled dry.
🔥 The Saudi Street Ignites
The “Masked Youth Movement”
A new movement has emerged in Saudi Arabia. It calls itself the “Masked Youth Movement” (حركة الشباب المُقنّع). In videos posted anonymously on TikTok and spread across social media, masked young Saudis their voices digitally altered to protect their identities directly criticize Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and call for his downfall.
They are not demanding abstract rights. They are demanding a reckoning. The videos express anger over the deterioration of living standards, the state’s spending on mega-entertainment projects and luxury events while basic services are neglected, and the lack of political freedom. One video states: “Today we are witnessing a strong movement led by the free youth of our nation, who courageously raise their voices for legitimate rights. This is our freedom and our right to self-determination”.
The hashtag #خونة_الوطن (“Traitors of the Nation”) has been launched by critics of the movement, accusing the masked youth of being foreign-backed dissidents. But the very existence of the debate the fact that Saudis are openly arguing about whether to support or condemn a movement against MBS is a sign that the regime’s monopoly on the narrative is cracking.
The Royal Family Splinters
Prince Khaled bin Farhan Al Saud, a member of the royal family living abroad, has declared rebellion and founded a political movement called “Freedom for the Sons of the Arabian Peninsula” . He is calling for the overthrow of the current system and the establishment of a constitutional monarchy in the Kingdom.
This is not an isolated act. It is a symptom of a deeper fracture. Diplomatic sources have revealed that “unprecedented steps have been implemented silently for months to form a united front against Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman”. Senior princes who have been marginalized by MBS believe that continued silence “will mean a significant marginalization of them and a more significant weakening of the ruling family”.
The royals fear that MBS’s handling of the war and his crackdown on rival princes arresting them, placing them under house arrest, reducing their allocations, and confiscating their assets could lead to “the collapse of the royal family and the collapse of the monarchy in the Kingdom”. MBS has jailed a fourth prince in a new purge over an alleged coup attempt. The royal family is no longer a unified institution. It is a battlefield.
The Mobilization Against MBS
Analysts have noted that the Yemeni forces are pursuing a deliberate strategy: “militiamen aim to make Wahhabis revolt against Bin Salman” . The strikes are not just military. They are political. They are designed to expose MBS’s failure, to humiliate him in front of his own people, and to ignite the domestic opposition that has been simmering for years.
Saudi Arabia is now facing a crisis on three fronts: the military front in Yemen, the economic front at home, and the political front within the royal family. And on all three fronts, MBS is losing.

BREAKING: The Senate just blocked the Stop Insider Trading Act from advancing. 53–47, with 60 votes needed.
ALL 53 Republicans voted YES.
ALL 45 Democrats and both independents voted NO.
Republicans had also attached unrelated voter ID requirements, and the bill still allowed lawmakers to keep existing stocks.
Democrats opposed those provisions and argued the trading restrictions didn’t go far enough.
So we get another political fight, and the people writing the rules keep trading the companies affected by them.
Fucking wild. Put a clean stock-trading ban on the floor. I want to see who says NO to that.
🚨 ROMANIA IS RISING AS TENSIONS MOUNT
Powerful scenes are coming out of Romania.
Crowds in the streets.
Romanian flags everywhere.
People shouting, crying and demanding answers after the detention of Călin Georgescu.
The anger is no longer contained to political debate.
It is spilling onto the streets.
George Simion has called for an end to what he describes as political persecution.
Support for Georgescu remains highly visible.
Support for Simion and AUR is growing louder.
And after months of political turmoil, Romania looks increasingly like a country reaching breaking point.
A presidential election was cancelled.
Trust in institutions has been badly damaged.
Now one of the most prominent political figures in the country has been detained.
And the response is fury.
This is about more than one man.
It is about democracy.
Accountability.
Political legitimacy.
And whether ordinary Romanians still believe the system represents them.
The legal case against Georgescu must be decided on evidence.
But politically, the message from the streets is becoming impossible to ignore:
ROMANIANS WANT ANSWERS.
THEY WANT ACCOUNTABILITY.
AND THEY ARE NOT GOING QUIETLY.
Romania is rising

Ursula von der Leyen kommer nästa vecka att lägga fram skarpa krav på att slopa enhällighet och gå över till majoritetsbeslut inom följande områden:
🔺Säkerhet och försvar
🔺Sanktioner och mänskliga rättigheter
🔺Utvidgning

This is what Israel did to Khan Younis University and all 12 universities in Gaza. It's called "scholasticide"—the systemic destruction of a society's educational system.
It's what Columbia U had students arrested for protesting. It's what they suspended and expelled students for speaking up against. It's what they banned Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voices for Peace over.
One of my students was suspended for three years.
It's time to reverse the suspensions and expulsions. It's time to catch up with what the rest of the world has finally recognized - Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza for 3 years and the students tried to tell you that.
Silencing the students was and remains tacit support for scholasticide. It's time to reinstate the students as well as SJP and JVP.
Mellanstatligt EU-samarbete är i grund och botten något bra. Men den linje som Ursula von der Leyen driver, med stöd av partier som Moderaterna, är däremot förkastlig och ett direkt hot mot den svenska självständigheten och suveräniteten.

After the war on Iran, the U.S. blockade of Cuba is ironically proving to be another powerful ad campaign for Chinese green technology.

🚨🇷🇴Romanian patriot leader Călin Georgescu has just been arrested again!
A man who won the presidential election, after which the Romanian government, together with the EU, annulled the results, has now been arrested at his home and ordered into 30 days in prison.
His "crime" is that he loves his country, does not want migrants in Romania, and does not want Romanians dying in wars that are not theirs!
Romanian brothers, don't let them take this man away!

BREAKING: Iran now says it will launch direct PREEMPTIVE strikes if intelligence indicates an attack is being prepared, with Iranian Army spokesperson Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akrami-Nia declaring that Tehran will not wait to absorb another strike and will act to eliminate the threat before it materializes, per ISNA.
Akrami-Nia says Iran’s military doctrine has shifted toward “preemptive defense and deterrent operations,” warning that Iranian forces will respond faster and more forcefully to any new attack.
The doctrine shift comes as tensions remain high and Donald Trump weighs further military action against Iran following the November midterm elections.
Iran is now publicly signaling that it could strike first if its intelligence indicates an attack is imminent.
