Angel Reese on the clip of her singing “Lift Every voice and Sing” making the rounds during Juneteenth weekend:

Eleven years ago today, nine Black worshippers were murdered during Bible study at Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston.
Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney. Cynthia Hurd. Susie Jackson. Ethel Lance. Rev. Depayne Middleton-Doctor. Tywanza Sanders. Rev. Daniel Simmons Sr. Rev. Sharonda Coleman-Singleton. Myra Thompson.
We say their names and remember the sacredness of their lives.
This was not only a mass shooting. It was a heinous act of white supremacy carried out in a house of worship. We must tell the truth about that hatred, grieve what it stole, and remain committed to dismantling the violence of racism in every form.

@jordan23atl@intellectatl They are still a young team though. Most of the guys coming back next year haven’t hit their prime yet, so development is always an ongoing process. Dyson, Jalen, Onyeka, Asa, Zac, Kuminga, Mo are all 25 and younger.
Sunday marks the 105-year commemoration of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The events of that day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, still reverberate throughout a community seeking justice. https://t.co/Nrkz07Ub2F
6 years since George Floyd’s murder.
Thinking of his daughter Gianna today and the need to keep pushing for the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
All kids deserves a world free from wanton police violence.
Originally called Decoration Day, Black Americans interred the bodies of fallen Union soldiers to honor their sacrifice — now known as Memorial Day. Decades later, my great-grandfather served our nation in WWI. Then my grandfather took post in WWII and the Korean War. Today and every day, I honor their sacrifice by fighting for rights they were denied in a country they loved, knowing freedom will prevail if we refuse to give up the battle.
72 years ago today in Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court declared that racial segregation is unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment.
The fight for civil rights continues.
