Not taking anything away from Ottoville but there’s gotta be a better way to decided a State Berth, today was NOT it!

1️⃣This situation couldn’t have been handled any worse by Doug Ute & his NWDAB cronies. Sending teams home who’ve played 80% of their Regional Final game at 2:15pm, just to start a different game on the same floor at 4pm is a completely asinine decision. Totally hosed the Stryker girls.

2️⃣Add that to the fact that Ute let D7 boys team Glenwood play in the postseason despite playing 23 games in the regular season this year. Even though the OHSAA handbook says any team who plays over 22 regular season games is ineligible for the tournament.

3️⃣How administrators across the state are completely fine sitting back and wearing beige while Ute is running the show is baffling to me. Don’t even get me started with the shady things he did in the 2024 volleyball state tournament to benefit his wife’s team!

Stryker High School girls basketball may have been robbed of a Final Four trip after Saturday’s matchup with Ottoville was suspended due to “court humidity.”

The Panthers led the entire game and were ahead 37–31 with 5:44 left in the fourth quarter when officials suspended play due to a slippery floor.

Yet roughly an hour later, Division VI and Division IV games were played on the same court. Today, ~24 hours after the game was suspended, it resumed with momentum dead, and the Stryker Panthers ended up losing.
