BTS flopped?
The way people keep acting like BTS is over is ridiculous, so letโs talk numbers and the reality of other groups. This might look like Iโm dragging everyone, and yeah, I might catch heat for it, but Iโd rather say what needs to be said. Iโll take the heat. And for the record, every group I mention has fandoms that have tried to drag BTS on my timeline, so spare me the fake outrage. This is the same basic comparison yโall make every day anyway, so if you want to come at me, at least come with numbers. No whining.
Bottom line up front: BTS is at their peak in every single metric. Career highs across the board. Nobody else is even in the same league.
For singles and chart comparisons, Iโm limiting it to BLACKPINK. Stray Kids and SEVENTEEN donโt have a significant edge over BLACKPINK in any meaningful way โ they might edge ahead on a few individual numbers, but thatโs the ceiling. BLACKPINK is the only comparison here that even makes sense. The rest of the groups are covered separately below.

aespa North America Tour (9 shows) : Revenue $11.84M / 97,070 tickets
aespa moved more tickets than SEVENTEEN and still made significantly less money. Why their average ticket price is that low needs separate analysis โ whether thatโs because of complimentary tickets or something else.
NewJeans : effectively down 1.5 members
IVE : No sellouts reported in any announced world tour city. The Philippines stop in particular appears to be under 50% sold with seats still visible โ a brutal result. They sold out there last year, so the drop-off this year has been steep.
SM boy groups / BIGBANG : Not worth mentioning.
ENHYPEN : 1 member out.
By the numbers, nobody besides BTS is even close.
Youโre calling BTS โfinishedโ because theyโve had fewer Melon daily #1 โ while theyโre hitting career highs in literally every other metric. What exactly is that argument based on?
If Melon #1 carries that much weight for you, then explain why aespa spent 99 days at #1 on Melon daily and their North American revenue still looks like that. And IVE โ whoโve been charting on Melon โ have been sitting on Philippines tickets for months and still canโt even hit 50% for a venue LE SSERAFIM sold out in a week. Girl groups already have a structural advantage on Korean streaming charts to begin with, and BLACKPINK GO still didnโt manage a single #1.
If you want to argue BTS has flopped, stop saying โit just feels like it~~โ and come back with actual numbers.
There is one small thing that bothered me the second I started the documentary. And its when RM says, "the life of a kpop artist is short, ours has been extended. So we have to figure out what's going to work, what makes us special? Even the chairman doesnt know."
I wish they realized it's not a formula or a certain method or anything at all. It's just THEM. Their personalities, their genuine desire to create, their passionโall of it translates and resonates no matter what they do.
BTS is special bc of the seven members that make up BTS and nothing else. They are enough as they are. ๐๐ญ

Make sure to watch the Netflix Documentary like an ADULT
Don't try to nitpick every word.
They guys trust we are MATURE and can understand the real world and how business works.
