1. provider overcharge, on demand cloud vms are simply expensive when you’re paying by the second (even during idle time like waiting for the agent), our provider wasn’t the cheapest especially for our use case
2. utilization, our default vm size is 32gb however a normal jam would use around 6gb of memory with heavy tasks like compilation requiring full resources for a small fraction of the vms lifetime, managing this ourselves meant we didn’t to pay to reserve that usage and could use some creative optimizations
as my final intern project, I shipped expose ports on @capydotai
simply ask it to run a website and you'll have a live preview inside capy and a link you can share with your coworkers!
updates in realtime as capy makes changes to the website and works on every capy surface
