Marriage only benefits a woman when the man is truly capable of leading, providing, and protecting. Otherwise she’s just adding responsibilities to a life she already manages alone.
The Bible warns us not to look back at old friendships or any relationships that God has delivered us from. Lot's wife did and literally became stuck in time. My prayer is that when you're tempted to return to the past, the spirit reminds you there's so much more ahead of you!
When I told my boyfriend I finally got promoted to senior architect, he didn’t even smile.
He said, “So now you’ll have less time for us?”
I laughed it off at first, thinking he was joking. But later that night he said, “I don’t want to date someone who’s always working late and surrounded by men.”
I reminded him how he once said he loved how ambitious I was.
Now that ambition suddenly feels like a threat to him.
He stopped calling, stopped showing up.
He said he wanted a “feminine” woman, not one “competing with men.”
It’s crazy how some people only support your dreams until those dreams start shining brighter than their ego.
A woman I know put her career on pause for years so her husband could “build something.” She moved cities for him. Took smaller jobs so he could take bigger risks. Covered bills when things were tight. Everyone called her supportive.
When his business finally took off, he started traveling more. Dressing better. Acting different. He’d joke at parties about how she “held it down in the early days.”
Then one night she overheard him tell someone, “We grew in different directions.”
That’s how she found out he was leaving.
After everything stabilized. After the struggle was over.
She didn’t beg. She didn’t list sacrifices.
She just said, “You didn’t grow in a different direction. You climbed and decided you didn’t want to look back.”
They divorced.
The heavy part?
She’s rebuilding at the age she thought she’d be resting.
But she says something that sticks with me:
“I don’t regret helping him win. I regret not helping myself at the same time.”
People feel that one.
Because it’s not loud.
It’s the kind of loss that comes with receipts.
One of the benefits of walking with God is that He gives you the courage to do life fearlessly. He becomes the source of your peace and the source of your audacity.

Some men will carry you when your feet hurt... and some will just stand there like,
“I warned you about those heels.”
“Choose the one who lifts you... not the one who lectures you."
I found a prayer in Ruth 3:18:
Lord, in matters concerning my life and destiny, let the men and women You have chosen and touched to help me not rest until it is settled for my good and in my favor. And may I learn to wait patiently for how You work it out. 🧡
