His Holiness the Dalai Lama Receives Grammy Recognition Highlighting Universal Responsibility and Compassion
Grammy Award Best Audiobook Narration - Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
I receive this recognition with gratitude and humility. I don’t see it as something personal, but as a recognition of our shared universal responsibility. I truly believe that peace, compassion, care for our environment, and an understanding of the oneness of humanity are essential for the collective well-being of all eight billion human beings. I’m grateful that this Grammy recognition can help spread these messages more widely.
Things this statement doesn’t do:
1. Acknowledge Jimmy Lai is a British Citizen (FCDO gremlins overturned @David_Cameron, maybe?)
2. Accept that Lai’s conviction constitutes a violation of the Sino British Joint Declaration.
3. Accept that Lai’s suffering would not be possible if the UK had kept China to its promises under that treaty.
4. Set out any steps towards accountability.
Just empty hand-wringing.
Dorjee Tashi’s case shows how the denial of due process & basic rights is used to isolate Tibetans.
Denied legal counsel, beaten in custody, & cut off frm family- the brutal treatment of Dorjee reflects the broader pattern of repression in Tibet

On this day, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to His Holiness for steadfast commitment to non-violence.
His message endures: “The more we care for others, the greater our own sense of well-being.”
Human rights start with this inner shift.

Rep. Jim McGovern and Amb. Sam Brownback urged the U.S. to get tougher on Beijing and officially support the Dalai Lama’s Middle Way Approach. If China won’t engage, they argue the U.S. must set a 60-day timeline and prepare to recognize Tibetan independence. They also warned against China’s meddling in the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation—an abuse that violates the Tibetan Policy and Support Act.

75 decades on, #Tibet remains under occupation, & the Tibetans been swept along with many of the oppressive phases of CCP rule.
A key line of oppressive continuity throughout these yrs has forced #Tibetans’ demands for freedom & respect for their religion & way of life

Starting Oct 16, Chinese authorities launched aggressive raids in Amdo, eastern Tibet—confiscating photos of the Dalai Lama from monasteries and homes. At least four villages and Tashi Khyil Monastery were searched. Bags filled with framed images were seized, instilling fear without making arrests. Even Tibetan officials led the effort, praising those who hid photos. This is religious persecution masked as “stability.”

The militarization of occupied #Tibet isn’t just a local issue, it jeopardizes Himalayan ecology, river-systems, and regional peace. China uses Tibet as a weaponized frontier instead of seeking peace. That must be called out.

Not Xinjiang, but EAST TURKESTAN. You must accept this truth. And you are not from East Turkestan. You may be Han Chinese, descended from pigs. The region you call "Altai" is the homeland of the Turks, where they first lived and thrived. The first Turks lived in the Altai. +++
Çin Komünist Partisi'nin (ÇKP) sözde "eğitimi" aslında eğitim değil.
Bu, kültürel bir silme. Uygur ve Tibetli çocukları hedef alıyor; onları köklerinden, dillerinden ve miraslarından koparıyor.

While we scroll in peace, over a million Uyghur Muslims are locked in so-called “reeducation camps” in China.
They’re not just being detained — they’re being erased.
This is the story many refuse to tell.
