There was only one thing that surprised me about the Jubilee with MAGA die-hards.
It wasn't that some people scream and refuse to stop talking. It wasn't that these were mostly young people cheering and finding purpose in wars but never fighting in them. It wasn't that their politics is more of a cult of personality. All expected and found in all factions.
It was that, despite being political junkies, they had no idea about Trump's enormous corruption scandals because the corporate and independent media they consume doesn't mention it. They had no idea it existed:
When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.
One Battle After Another and Sinners may end up forever being associated together the same way No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood are. Unfortunately only one can win Best Picture. Sinners probably wins in 2025 if it was made a year earlier.
Devastated by the news of Wes Rucker's tragic passing.
Our hearts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. He will be deeply missed by so many in our community and beyond.
Losing by 14 to a 5-7 FSU team, struggling to beat multiple sub .500 teams in November, losing to the only ranked team you play in November at home, and then getting your ass beat in the SEC Championship game and STILL GETTING INTO THE CFP might me the most Bama thing of all time
This is the worst selection committee we've ever had.
Cannot believe Alabama didn't even drop one spot after the SEC title game blowout. Cannot believe they waited until the final reveal to flip Miami-ND. Could have done it at ANY point.
The Groyper movement has quietly infiltrated the Republican Party and Republican adjacent networks. This is no joke. Young Republican groups, TPUSA, think tanks, staff on the hill...these ideas, sentiments, and prejudices are literally everywhere now.
This is what happens when you decide that character doesn't matter in politics. You enable this kind of a movement to rise.
