You cannot escape Architecture. The absence of architecture is, itself, an architecture, tho not a particularly good one. Given that, it’s probably best to learn how to make better ones.
I know of at least one place where a new CTO just wiped out the entire backlog and started over from scratch (with size limits on the new one). No issues at all—in fact, things got better fast.
It’s amazing how many problems we can solve simply by talking to one another. If "business" isn’t talking to "dev" isn’t talking to "legal" isn’t talking to "product," a host of difficulties will exist that don’t need to exist at all. Problems wither away with communication.
"Designing software is mostly a listening activity, and we often have to be part software engineer, part psychic, and part anthropologist." – Justin Etheredge in https://t.co/sdqEffTFtp
One developer, working alone, can ship as much code as an entire team.
No communication overhead.
No waiting for approvals.
No cross-team blockers.
No company meetings.
No code reviews.
Plus, a solo developer can choose the tools and techniques that make him/her most efficient.
So, @Facebook Support tells me that a reported fake account created using a dead friend's picture and name doesn't violate their Community Standards. Not the first fake account they wouldn't take down either, and probably won't be the last. I can't even dispute it. #blocked
@OrdinaryNoCon@troyhunt Some people don't even know their own email addresses so they unintentionally use someone else's. Sometimes you don't know if it is spam trying to confirm your address or a legit mistake.
Bass Tong performing recently in Nantes, France. He refers to his style of music as “acoustic techno,” which he produces using an instrument he named the Pipe Drum. It is made from PVC tubes and is played with flip-flops. His kit also includes a cajón, a hi-hat, and a snare drum.

Hard to believe my Acer Aspire 1420P from Microsoft #PDC09 is still running today. A little RAM here, SSD there, a $6.79 replacement Wi-Fi card with a modern OS. The touch screen even mostly works!
