I HAVE said this numerously before; one of my favourite Project Management strategy is PREMORTEM. Without exaggeration, it is one of the most efficient strategies to help any Project Manager successfully deliver a construction project. Why? It primarily helps you to imagine failure; you look ahead to the end of a project and imagine it has failed. Something we rarely do as humans let alone as Project Managers.
Thereafter, you begin to work backwards from the point of failure and layout a plan on how to avoid the booby traps before the project starts. Essentially it enables you to better understand the project risks and prepare for every twists and turns.
