@jemelehill Though making it a national holiday let most cities and companies celebrate on a larger level, and that was done to pander but that’s another story, it is not a holiday white people should be speaking on but learning more about.

@jemelehill She’s not wrong. A lot of us felt like making Juneteenth a national holiday put white folks “in our business”. We were just fine without national acknowledgement. Forms of slavery still exist in America. Made possible by some of those same Christians. He didn’t do his research
