There’s this preacher I used to follow.

Looooooved his sermons.

They create so much fire within me.

Then I started hearing all manner of things about him on social media.

And I subconsciously drew away from him.

One random morning, as I was in the office getting coffee at the machine, I had a thought that stabbed through my heart.

‘The message is for you, the messenger is for me’

I sat with that thought, and I saw how much I was missing out on messages that could change my life because I couldn't separate the message from the messenger.

I wasn't focused on what mattered.

I was hugely distracted.

Since that day, no matter who you are, what you’ve done, what the world thinks about you, I will give your words a chance.

I also have a mental sieve.

Some teachings I bin, some I act on IMMEDIATELY.

Some of the people who have had the biggest impact on me through their works are atheists, and some we don’t share similar views about life, and for me, that’s okay.
