Today is a sad day for the Lightning Network community as one of our very respected developers is moving on to new ventures.
At the same time, I am delighted that I had the opportunity to collaborate with @rusty_twit and learn so much from him. In any case, I wish him well!
First batch of projects onboarded, including ██████, ████, ██████, ██████, █████, ████████ and █████.
Scanning for vulns without generating AI slop has begun. Responsible disclosures to maintainers coming soon.

Meet Loupe, an AI-powered vulnerability scanner for open-source bitcoin projects. Attackers already use AI to find weaknesses. Maintainers should do the same.
Bitcoin Core, BDK, LDK, rust-bitcoin, Cashu, Jade, bitcoinj, and SRI are already onboard.

So, @OpenAI just shipped privacy-filter: a local 1.5B-param model for detecting PII & credentials.
As a first experiment I created 'git-privacy-filter', a simply git pre-commit / pre-push hook tool that refuses to commit anything it flags (link in first reply).

Created a new knowledge base for the Bitcoin and Lightning development
ecosystem. It's useful for looking up concepts in general, but agent prompting
in particular. It indexes a variety of sources for easy
lookup from your favorite agent interface.
I’m incredibly grateful to receive a grant from @HRF to continue building Programming Lightning and expanding its impact in 2026!
So far, I’ve developed a self-paced “Intro to Payment Channels” course on @Replit, where students implement a Lightning payment channel from the scratch. Once complete, your code will even pass some of the major test vectors provided in BOLT 3. In other words, you’ll be a Lightning Zen Master 😎
If you have any questions or feedback, I’d love to hear from you! Also, if you have experience with Bitcoin/Lightning education, let’s chat! It would be great to share best practices and lessons learned ⚡
