This Germany Curacao game shows why the expanded World Cup is so embarrassing. Can you imagine a serious team losing 7-1 to Germany before all these new teams were let in?
Today, the Church honours Saint Charles Lwanga and his companions, the brave Martyrs of Uganda ๐บ๐ฌ.
These young men lived during a time of fierce persecution under King Mwanga II of Buganda. Rather than abandon Christ or compromise their faith, they chose to remain faithful to the Gospel, even when it meant suffering torture and death.
Between 1885 and 1887, many of them were burned alive or executed for professing the Christian faith.
St. Charles Lwanga stood out as a courageous leader who protected the younger pages, instructed them in the faith, and strengthened them to remain steadfast in Christ.
His witness reminds us that holiness is not measured by age, wealth, or status but by fidelity to God.
The blood of the Uganda Martyrs became the seed of Christianity in Africa.
What their persecutors hoped would destroy the faith instead helped it flourish, inspiring countless conversions and generations of believers.
May St. Charles Lwanga and all the Uganda Martyrs intercede for us, that we may have the courage to remain faithful to Christ in every trial, to defend purity and truth, and to bear witness to the Gospel without fear.
St. Charles Lwanga and Companions, pray for us. โ๏ธ

Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery.
I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products.
I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people.
Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.
