Dejounte isn’t wrong. The Spurs organization plateaued after Tim retired. Yet, they tried to continue their ways in taking their sweet time developing guys, especially in the G-League, instead of throwing young players into the fire to sink-or-swim in the NBA.
…to Austin would’ve objectively been better for the Spurs organization. Austin would attract more free agents and young players would be more inclined to stay.
But Spurs fans aren’t ready to have that conversation.
