All in all, men love on your children. Guide them, show them, teach them, but LOVEEEEE ON THEM. FROM A HEALED PLACE!!!! Don't parent in ego, parent in love and healing. Kids ain't idiots they know what feels good to them and who makes them feel safe & secure. Love consistently.
Having a Father in your life makes a difference. A lot of men think they know what it means to be a dad and never truly had good examples of what a dad is. A lot of men don't even speak to their dads. Some men do better. Some repeat the cycles of their dad. There but dismissive.
But I been blessed to have TWO amazing dads. My mom husband even in as much physical pain he be in, he takes the kids for walks, he'll sit on the porch for hours and watch them play or take them to Dollar Tree and get them water guns. Lol...he is my kids EVERYTHING!
Now my DADDY?!!! That man was a cheer dad, played barbie dolls with me in the dark when we didn't have electricity. Kept me home from school if I missed the school bus but would take me out to eat instead of to school lmaoooooo I love and miss my dad so much lmaooo
I definitely strive to be a present, creative, influential, compassionate parent. I needed more from my mom growing up but she tried her best. I like some things my mom did with me but like to take it up a notch for my kids.
Being a good parent is a choice. Being a selfish parent is a choice. Choosing your kids is a choice. Breaking the deadbeat, dismissive, bare minimum, toxic, avoidant generational cycles of your parents to be better for your own family is a choice. Repeating cycle....is a choice.
