@santanderuk I’ve been trying to pay my credit card for days now with no joy. Can’t get through on the phone & online doesn’t seem to be working, that’s the app and the website. Is there another option?
The gut is also called your “second brain,” and it is constantly communicating with your brain (via the vagus nerve), influencing hormone production, immune system function, appetite, digestion, metabolism, behavior, mood, stress responses and, you guessed it, sleep.
Vegetable oils, despite their ‘health-washed’ reputations, can do far more harm than good, including in the gut. Their high levels of omega-6 fatty acids make them highly susceptible to oxidation, both on the shelf and inside your body, an inflammation-promotor
When your microbiome is out of balance, your production of serotonin and other neurotransmitters drops, leaving you vulnerable to depression, anxiety, and sleep problems. Although we think of these issues as “brain problems,” they may very well be a result of "gut problems".

Our first line of defense against ingested pathogens is the acid in our stomach, and Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) eliminate this by altering the pH in the gut. This leads to an imbalance of good to bad bacteria normally found in the gut, leading to all sorts of problems.
Dehydration is one of the most underrated – and easily fixed – causes of feeling tired. Staying well-hydrated – giving your cells an inner bath to help clear out cellular debris – is essential to feeling energetic.
Having a balanced microbiome is your best weapon against inflammation—and your best means of preventing all the symptoms that inflammation can produce.
@TravelRepublic I’m trying to cancel a hotel booking I made with you but website doesn’t seem to allow me to do it and calls aren’t being accepted. Can you advise the best way to cancel? Thanks!
Research has shown that people who regularly take PPI's (Proton Pump Inhibitors), such as Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec and Aciphex, have less microbial diversity in their gut, putting them at increased risk for infections.

Cosmetics, moisturizers, shampoos, and conditioners often contain ingredients that disrupt your hormonal balance. To reduce exposure, switch to cleaner, greener personal products, and try to reduce use in general.
I recommend water filters over bottled water, which is virtually unregulated, expensive, and not necessarily safer than tap water. And roughly 2/3rds of those water bottles wind up in the ocean and in landfills, polluting and poisoning waters and wildlife.
