Daigo on stream talking about Kemonomichi. He says he seriously planned on retiring if he lost to Mena. The reason being that since SF6 release he has not felt “strong” or the motivation to improve like in his youth in the arcade days. But after 3 months of training, in the final week before the match he thought, “Wait a minute. Am I strong again? This is what it felt like back in the day.”
He was incredibly stressed the day before the match and couldn’t eat, and said just walking outside felt like he was already in the fight. He thought he wouldn’t be able to sleep due to stress, but surprisingly fell asleep easily - however when he woke up he had tears in his eyes. He doesn’t know why, but he thinks it’s because he had a dream where he quit Fighting Games.
After he lost to Mena, he still thought it was time to retire. But in the taxi ride back to Tokyo, Eita kept bothering him and begging him not to. Daigo agreed just to shut him up, but then he thought back on that feeling of being strong in the last week and thought if he could keep that same motivation and approach he had for Kemonomichi, he could become strong again.
For now he has decided to continue competing, but is taking a short rest after the set.
Hello, my life has been incredibly hectic lately, which is why it took me so long to speak up, but here I am. I'll repeat everything I said in my thank you message: 1 - Honor and glory to the Lord Jesus, without Him I am nothing. 2 - To my wonderful wife, who always supports me in everything I do, to my mother and family, who are the pillars of my life. 3 - To the "Comitê Games" (@comitegames), if it weren't for this sponsorship and encouragement, I would just be an online player all the time, and I can't fail to thank my teammate and personal friend @PITERERNANDIS, a faithful training partner, advisor, and sincere friend. 4 - To the entire Brazilian community (@Alemeras_, @SpadaGamer1, @kododistv, @eehkang, @Freenicius, @sagaizinbc) and many other people who have always supported me, encouraged me, helped me train, and shaped my profile as a KOF XV player and, thank God, world champion. I confess to you that I'm still processing all of this, hahaha, there hasn't been a moment when I haven't watched the videos and cried a lot, knowing that it wasn't just a victory, it was a historic milestone in the esports scene, for Brazil, for Latin America, and for the world. I thank everyone with much affection, everyone who congratulated me, because I'm sure it was a shared victory. To everyone who made artwork, I kindly ask you to send it to me, because I liked all of them and would like to collect them. A hug to everyone, Jesus loves each and every one of you.
@zhaozero18 Dos que eu joguei 7>9>6>10>12
O 8 é interessante também, mas mais pelo setting e história do que a jogabilidade, então não sei se vale a recomendação.
Dito tudo isso, Peak Judgment te aguarda
@Dai0157 You told me back when I was slumping with FGs in 2019 to "just keep playing the game", and indeed, many times, the right path is just as simple as that. You got this!
I did it! 40 years old this year.
Since Tekken 8 dropped,
my results have been rough. People said I was done,
washed up, too old to compete.
I didn’t even make it to TWT Finals for the first time. I was frustrated with the game and honestly, I still am in some ways.
But thanks to the dev team’s hard work, it’s been getting better.
I just couldn’t adapt.
Last year was the worst of my Tekken career. I felt lost,
unsure of what to do.
But the answer turned out to be simple: just keep going.
When you do, the right path starts to reveal itself.
Be thankful for your teammates, friends, fellow players, and the fans who support you.
Believe in them and in yourself. That’s how you stand back up.
I hope I’ve shown that there’s still hope for gamers in their 40s. Let’s keep pushing, even when the path is tough.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me!

Long post, and might be too late for some, but with Esports teams SWARMING the FGC right now trying to pick up talent, I wanted to make a PSA:
These teams don't care about you, and they don't care about the FGC. They are scrambling to fill in their rosters because the EWC has a $20 MILLION (!) prize pool for the Top 16 teams with the most points across all games. This payout will go directly to the team owners, and is a MUCH more attractive prize than the potential $300k for winning SF6/Tekken.
This is FINE, and is not exclusive to the FGC - the teams are rushing to pick up players across all the smaller titles for a shot at the $20 Mil. They don't need the players to win, they just need them to finish in Top 8 in order to gain points.
For a lot of you, this will be your first time being sponsored and maybe your first time negotiating a contract. Don't let these teams take advantage of you! They NEED you and there is not a lot of time before the EWC (technically the deadline was 5/31 to add members, but I'm sure exceptions will be made).
1) Don't accept anything without sharing and discussing it with a 3rd party. Fellow FGC members, contract lawyers, anyone you trust. Try and find out what kind of offers other sponsored players have and use it as a baseline - don't get lowballed because you're uninformed.
2) Don't accept any temporary/trial based sponsorships. Since the EWC is the focus, some teams may be trying to just pick up a player for the event and then dropping them after. Ask for a longer term commitment (2 years~).
3) Find out what the team can do for YOU. While it's attractive to get a jersey, some money, and flown out to a couple events - if that's all there is, then once the ride is over you're back to where you started. How can they help grow your brand, market you, and make you more attractive as a player. They have resources and staff for this, make sure they use some of them on you.
Basically just understand that you have value and don't be afraid to ask for what you're worth. People without negotiation experience may be hestitant to ask for more, but "negotiation is a two-way street". Any professional is used to back and forth discussion when it comes to business.
Anyway good luck, it's a prosperous time to be a FGC top player at the moment. But who knows how long it will last 🤔
10 years and counting of video game jazz and all the nonsense that comes along with it.
We wouldn't be here without your continued support, thank you❤️
