And must have heard about the very famous and beautiful "DAMASCUS BLADE" with really beautiful patterns

But what if I tell you the origin of Damascus Steel is INDIAN!!!

The production of wootz declined in India due to several factors

The primary of which being the colonial policies of British where they imposed heavy taxes on local furnaces and even banned the trade to import cheap British Steel.
