He’s not a monster, he’s gotta talk to her and begin that process.

Whatever the situation is, romantic or not, Whitaker took the keys and the apartment offer to GET OUT OF IT.

Gerran even said that Whitaker was hoping Robby would get him out of it because he’s in over his head.

I personally don’t think it’s romantic, but I also think it will be over soon, as that was the entire reason for the offer to begin with. ✌🏻
