@bioinvestor24 Durability is the metric to watch. Response rates grab attention, but keeping the disease from progressing is what matters. The June data hinted at this: 90% of those pancreatic patients were progression free at six months. If responses hold, Phase 3 is an easy call.
In October 1981, a 23-year-old Prince experienced one of the most painful episodes of his career while opening for The Rolling Stones at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The audience, hungry for pure rock and roll, didn’t understand his style or his flamboyant image. Amid boos and insults, the crowd began throwing objects at him, forcing him to leave the stage early.
Humiliated and frustrated, the musician immediately flew home with the firm intention of never returning to that stage. However, Mick Jagger’s manager played a decisive role: he convinced Prince to return two nights later to face the crowd once more and fulfill the second scheduled show.
Photographed by Allen Beaulieu, that tumultuous episode was immortalized as a harsh generational clash.
Today, it seems impossible to imagine a crowd booing a genius of such magnitude.
@business The shift is real. Chinese brands like Dynafish and Viltrox are putting out legit premium products now. It is not just about being cheaper anymore. Quality has caught up and in some cases surpassed Western brands.
@CNBC A fund for workers is nice, but the better play is AI people can actually afford. Open models let small businesses and workers build with these tools instead of paying whatever a closed provider wants. Real access does more than studying job loss from a distance.
Still wild that this happened. McCartney walks in for a casual jam, ends up fronting Nirvana, and they crank out a song that won a Grammy. Grohl on drums behind a Beatle is peak rock history. Kurt had to have gotten a kick out of this.
FDA has granted accelerated approval of an immunotherapy for adults with previously untreated stage II or III locally advanced rectal cancer whose tumors are dMMR or MSI-H.
In a phase 2 study, almost three-fourths of patients did not need surgery, radiotherapy, or chemotherapy after a median follow-up of more than 2 years. For eligible patients, treatment may help avoid chemotherapy, radiation and surgery and their lasting effects.
This is the 11th approval under the Commissioner’s National Priority Voucher pilot program.
@XueJia24682 Seeing China teach AI in elementary school shows how fast they are moving. We definitely need smart guidelines, but overregulating tech in the US is just going to stifle our own development and leave us falling behind while they train the next generation.
Mark Carney: "In three weeks, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, António Costa, will be in Montreal. And that is when Canada will launch a new transformative alliance with the European Union."
“We had to find a way and we did. Looking back, we were the luckiest people in the world; there was no choice but to be pioneers.” —Margaret Hamilton
Rest in peace, Margaret. Your trailblazing work leading the development of the on-board flight software for the Apollo spacecraft will forever be remembered. 🫡
The photo of him making her laugh while she's just standing there unbothered says everything. Nearly 30 years together and he still cried for a year after. That's the real love story nobody writes songs loud enough for.
In December 1995, Linda McCartney was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy, the disease spread to her liver.
Paul and Linda had been together for nearly three decades, married since March 1969, and he remained by her side throughout the three-year battle.
Linda spent her final days at the family ranch in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her husband and their four children. A committed vegetarian, she had written several cookbooks and founded her own line of meatless meals, a legacy that continued to grow even as her health was failing.
She died on April 17, 1998, at the age of 56. Decades later, Paul confessed that he cried for nearly a year straight, waiting to see her walk through the door as she always did, a loss that never ceased to weigh on him.
The amazing Typewriter Concerto...
For anyone who needs a smile today...
This is Leroy Anderson's 'The Typewriter' for orchestra, complete with all the familiar 'dings' and clitter-clattering of a typewriter. The soloist here is Alfredo Anaya, with conductor Miguel Roa
Back when MTV actually played music videos. That song hit like a ton of bricks when it came out. Everything on the radio sounded completely different after that.
