I saw this video trending on TikTok and Twitter, and unlike many people, I have a different perspective on it.

Would the outrage be the same if it were the wife who handed a handkerchief to her husband and asked him to wipe her sweat? Wouldn’t many people describe that as romantic, thoughtful, or sweet?

So why can’t we see this gesture the same way?

Not every act of service between spouses should immediately be viewed through the lens of control or humiliation. Sometimes, it is simply an expression of love, care, and affection.

Perhaps the context matters more than the gesture itself. If it’s done willingly, with mutual love and respect, why shouldn’t it be considered romantic too?

Or is it wrong if a husband asked that his wife help him to dry/wipe his sweat ?
