why did this make me so happy i teared up a little? NOT A LOT. a little.
10 years ago i didn’t even really understand what a #1 album meant, but then ever since blurryface i kind of really wanted it again, but never got it.
then i stopped wanting it and just wrote an album for you. for us.
and that’s when you guys showed up bigger than ever. you did this. buying vinyl, or a box set, or going to listening events, or streaming and telling other people. thank you so much.
this is the most proud i’ve ever been to be a part of this band.
if you only knew how many industry people are confused right now.

A todos y todas por tanto amor a un cine que intenta expresarse usando el poder de las imágenes y el sonido, con ideas que remuevan nuestros cimientos para edificarnos con más fuerza; que habla de hacer frente a las dificultades a través de lo colectivo; de la empatía; de afrontar las dificultades mediante el consenso; de una masculinidad que se abre al otro, que no impone sino acoge y se entrega sin pedir nada a cambio; de una mirada que se abre al mundo también empleando el idioma —este Goya es español, pero también uruguayo, argentino y chileno—; y que reivindica el cine en la pantalla más grande posible.
Háganse el favor, si pueden, de vivirla en la oscuridad de un cine, rodeados de extraños. La película sigue en las salas y verla así es una experiencia catártica.

Gracias a Netflix por hacer este proyecto posible y acercarla al espectadores de todo el mundo. Nunca soñamos que millones de personas la verían cada día en todo el planeta. Que sirva para que la gente pierda el miedo a ver cine de otras nacionalidades en otros idiomas.

Gracias al grupo humano detrás de La Sociedad de la Nieve: supervivientes, familias de los 45 —vuestros mensajes de agradecimiento son aún un premio más grande—, y equipo técnico y artístico.

Pero sobretodo hoy es un día para dar las gracias a mis colegas de la Academia, por hacernos sentir tan respetados y queridos. Me gustaría compartir el éxito de la película con todas y todos vosotros.

Aquí estamos para entretenerles con nuestras historias, para hacerles pensar, emocionarse e incluso, si eso es posible, transformarles, hacer de este mundo un lugar mejor.
