The military is not a monarchy, and the president is not above criticism. Service members swear an oath to the Constitution, not personal allegiance to whoever holds the office. The relevant question is not "did she say something people dislike?" The question is "what specific UCMJ article or regulation did she violate?"

A uniform does not magically turn a person's private political opinion into an official Air Force statement. Unless she claimed to speak for the service, engaged in prohibited political activity, violated a lawful order, or her conduct met an actual military legal standard, "I don't like what she said" is not the same thing as a court-martial offense.

This guy had no right to force someone else to stand or sit. Personal beliefs do not give anyone the authority to put their hands on another person. A strike to the head is not a harmless gesture, especially when you consider that people can have underlying conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, where a blow could have devastating consequences. At minimum, this should be treated seriously as an act of violence. Ignorance of the law is not a defense.

This headline is more definitive than the courts have been.

A stay pending appeal is a temporary procedural ruling. It is not a final decision that the executive order or the proposed USPS rule is lawful. The legality of the proposal is still being litigated, and at least one federal judge has already ruled that major portions of the order likely exceed presidential authority because election administration is largely governed by the states and Congress, not the President.

In other words, this isn't "game over." It's an ongoing court case.
