Foreign ownership of our food system a national security threat

Bill Gates owns ~275,000 acres across 17 states - making him one of America’s largest private farmland owners

What’s he doing with it? Growing corn, soybeans, potatoes - then LEASING it back to farmers through his investment firm Cascade

Meanwhile, FOREIGN entities now control ~46 MILLION acres of American ag land (3.6% of total):
🇨🇦 Canada: ~15.4M acres (33%)
🇨🇳 China: ~277,000 acres (mostly Smithfield Foods)

China’s acreage is less than others, but includes land near military bases, which has raised REAL national security concerns

UPDATE: In response to these concerns, the Trump administration announced its “National Farm Security Action Plan” in July 2025. This plan aims to BAN future purchases by foreign adversaries and use presidential authorities to “claw back” land already purchased, stating a clear goal of securing U.S. farmland.

We have to not lose sight of this and continue to push the administration to take action. Much more needs to be done.

🚨 GATES FOUNDATION UNDER FIRE 🚨

The China connections runs deep. In October 2025, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley launched an investigation into the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for allegedly funneling "tens of million" to Chinese Communist Party-linked entities.

**The allegations:**

- $11.7 million to CCP-controlled government agencies
- $2 million to a corporation the Pentagon identified as working with China’s military
- $6.7 million to state-run Chinese universities
- In 2022 alone: $23 million to over 20 different Chinese entities

Grassley is questioning whether these payments violate tax laws prohibiting 501(c)(3) charities from directly supporting foreign governments. The Gates Foundation now faces scrutiny over whether it’s complying with its tax-exempt status.

This comes on top of reports that the Gates Foundation Trust holding approximately $53 million in Tencent stock (as of 2023 filings; latest Q2 2025 data shows no such holdings, suggesting potential divestment) - a company on the Pentagon’s list of Chinese military companies - plus tens of millions more in other Chinese state-owned enterprises.

Meanwhile, Gates is quietly building control over America’s food supply through strategic investments:

The pattern is clear: Gates invests in land, then invests in the technology companies that patent seeds and create synthetic foods, then uses his foundation to push policies that benefit those same companies
