Put her on pills that made her gain weight and cry at random. Every appointment ended the same: “Your body just isn’t cooperating.” “Some women have weaker reproductive systems.” “Your husband is perfectly healthy.” Her husband never got properly tested. Just one quick analysis years ago. “Normal,” the doctor said. Case closed. For years, his family made comments. Told her to pray harder. Lose weight. Stress less. Be more “feminine.” She apologized for something that wasn’t even hers to carry. One day, after another failed cycle, she secretly booked an appointment with a different doctor, a female fertility specialist. That doctor reviewed the old reports in five minutes. She looked up and said, “Why was your husband never re-tested?” New tests were done. The results? Severe male factor infertility. Low count. Poor motility. It had been there the whole time – just ignored. My friend wasn’t infertile. She was just easier to blame.
