A dream comes true. A book of poems, although in Italian..La poesia parla del cuore e della vita, e del mistero che ognuno è. È ora che tutto È - Damiano Rondelli | puntoacapo https://t.co/yH9VFdn3fv

Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon are now relentlessly claiming hundreds of civilian lives.
And I am very saddened to confirm that two UNHCR colleagues were also killed yesterday.
On behalf of all us at UNHCR, heartfelt condolences to their families, friends and colleagues.
It is again heart breaking to observe how any war violates the rights of vulnerable people! Bombing of Okhmatdyt Hosp in Kyiv hit the ped & adult BMT unit. Resilience & solidarity are our weapons! #WBMT is actively engaged with Ukrainian BMT

Cancer, diabetes, heart or lung disease can affect any one of us, or our loved ones.
Conflict, flooding, earthquakes, famine, displacement, and other emergencies multiply the risks associated with these diseases.
I recently saw a report of 40 people who needed dialysis dying in one state in #Sudan. Sudan has over 9000 people in need of dialysis, over 200 of them are children.
This situation is not unique to Sudan. We have seen the same needs in many places affected by conflict or disasters, including Yemen, Türkiye, Syria, Ukraine and Gaza.
We need to do better at integrating noncommunicable disease care in emergency response, to protect more lives from these avoidable tragedies and improve health security: https://t.co/zDuAczQorv
After two days of being denied entry into the Nasser Medical Complex in #Gaza, yesterday @WHO and partners were allowed to go inside to assess the patients. As a result, lifesaving medical referral of 14 critical patients was facilitated. Two patients needed continuous manual ventilation throughout their journey.
9 patients are now receiving care in the European Gaza, International Medical Corps, UAE and Indonesia field hospitals, and 5 patients are in Al-Aqsa hospital.
There are still more than 180 patients and 15 doctors and nurses inside Nasser.
The hospital is still experiencing an acute shortage of food, basic medical supplies, and oxygen. There is no tap water and no electricity, except a backup generator maintaining some lifesaving machines.
WHO, @PalestineRCS, @UNOCHA and other partners need sustained and safe access to continue lifesaving referrals for all patients in need of urgent care.
In Nepal many blood cancer patients do not have any resource to start chemotherapy. We work with multiple constituents to play each of us a role in supporting sustainable care. Grateful to our donors…we need more 🙂 @Poudyalbishesh @DamianoRondell1
