Don’t use divorce as a threat every time you’re angry with your spouse.
Once you repeatedly tell someone, “I’m leaving you,” eventually they may stop hearing it as a warning and start preparing for life without you.
If you genuinely want to leave, have that serious conversation.
But if you’re simply angry because your husband forgot something or your wife said something you didn’t like, don’t keep throwing the word “divorce” around.
Some words are too powerful to use as weapons during ordinary arguments.
If you spend all day at a fish market, you'll leave smelling like fish, even if you never touched one. But spend your day in a perfume shop and you'll carry the scent even if you didn't buy anything, that's how environment works. it rubs off, whether you realize it or not.
Stay around complainers and everything starts to look negative.
Stay around excuse makers and you won't grow, but get around people who move with purpose, you'll feel it.
Get around people who live in gratitude, you'll start to see differently.
The scent of your environment will always follow
My girlfriend went to make her hair yesterday without telling me .
When she got there and finished making her hair she called me and said babe I'm done .
I asked her done with what .
She said the hair
I asked her what hair ,
she said I went to make my hair and I'm done , send me 40k to pay the hairdresser.
I was like babe you didn't tell me you were going to make hair today and I didn't budget for it so I don't have money with me at the moment.
She said asked your friends to send it to you I need to pay this girl and go back home .
I told her I don't have , she ended the call ,
Later in the evening I tried calling her but number wasn't going through so I slept, this morning I checked my WhatsApp only to realize that she has blocked me.
This is someone I recently bought an iPhone 15pro max for barely one month ago 😂 and I also placed her on a monthly allowance of 50k too.
There’s something my married sister taught me.
She said, “if you ever get to the point where you have to split the bills when you marry, make sure you choose to pay the rent and not the feeding”
I remember when I got my dream job after being married for 4yrs.
I was soo excited.
I cannot forget the advice my mother gave me. God bless her soul.
" You can assist in the home in any way you choose but don't out of happiness pledge to take care of feeding henceforth."
It is very expensive and your efforts will go unnoticed.
My colleague said she doesn't cook for her husband anytime she's on her period.
I was shocked so i asked her why?
She said her husband made the rules, he said a woman is unclean, dirty and unholy during her period.
So he gave her the rules not to step into his kitchen talk more of cooking for the family.
She also sleeps at the guest room untill she's done with it.
Today during our break time at work,
She called her usual private chef to come cook for them.
The chef will stay for the whole time till she's done seeing her period.
I asked her what kind of marriage is this?
She smiled and said;
" me and my husband identify our marriage as holy and sacred "
Any man who is 39 and single, never been married, is a truckload of red flags. He has bad character, in fact.
Ladies, being 30 and unmarried does NOT mean your eggs have shrunk and fibroids have occupied your womb. 😭
If you didn't understand the Igbo, please get an interpreter.
@Collette001 Actress. Beautiful.
The summary for me is not to allow the time of desperation to set in.
The choices have been there between 24 and 27 years as a lady.
" He is not rich enough "
I want to enjoy small"
"I am not ready for child birth"
"I want to do Masters*
Excuses...
Someone will or has accepted this offer.
In the next few years.
The wife will come out and tell us that her husband is a wicked person for abandoning her and the kids in Nigeria.
The husband will come and tell us that his four kids are not his, because while he was struggling so hard to take care of his family, his wife was cheating on him back home.
Situationship like this don't end well.
I just finished babysitting my 4-month-plus son.
And honestly, women are really superheroes tbvh.
I only watched this boy for a few hours, and I’m already tired.
Carry him — he cries.
Put him down — he cries.
Feed him — he still finds a way to cry.
You finally think he has slept, you quietly sit down to rest…
“Eeeehhh!” 😭
Back to carrying him.
At some point, I just sat there looking at him like, “Omo, na so your mama dey do this thing every day?”
The funniest part is that women do all these things while still cooking, cleaning, answering calls, doing business, taking care of the house and somehow remembering everybody’s needs.
And some of them are doing all this while recovering from childbirth.
Respect every mother out there.
Women are really super heroes, tbvh.
Apparently, the man owed someone ₦65 million from a business transaction, and all the money my aunty had been giving him was being used to pay off the debt.
All those times he came to her with one problem or another, she genuinely thought she was helping the man she loved. She didn’t know she was helping him pay off a ₦65 million debt.
And till today, she still wonders if paying that final ₦5 million would have saved his life.
If you were my aunty, after everything you had already done for this man, would you have paid that final ₦5 million?
Would you still feel sorry for him, or would you have walked away long before then?
What would you have done?
