1995年の阪神・淡路大震災のあと
マイケルは日本の子どもたちを励ますために
ジャニーズのユニット「J-FRIENDS」のために
新曲「Children's Holiday」を提供しました。

この曲の印税やCDの収益は
震災で親を亡くした
子どもたちの支援に充てられました。
マイケル自身が日本の震災のためだけに
新曲を書き下ろしたという事実は
もっと知られてもよいエピソードです。
