this is gonna be a long read, but i hope people who have been asking for evan to speak up would read this without malice. everything below is my interpretation, not his words.

“when you tell me something wrong, baby you’re right”

if people actually listened to his songs, they might understand why evan hasn’t felt the need to publicly correct people he once believed would still embrace him. my interpretation is that his silence is a form of respect. instead of challenging what they choose to believe or say, he lets people feel what they want to feel while he tells his own truth through his songs.

“can’t send you this letter, but i still try to write
we’ll meet again, i know, just think about us, i won’t let you go”

my interpretation of these lines is that they’re something he wanted to say to the people who once embraced him. he may be in a different situation now, but the love he has for them never really disappeared.
