And in terms to hyperinflation, I suspect there would only be a slight increase if any. If the gov took the money they cut from different programs and devoted that to a UBI, wouldn’t it just be resource allocation? (Not an economist, just an idiot pondering)
The more I think about it, a universal basic income could solve a lot of societal problems. Seems like there are more pros than cons for instituting it.
Many would argue that a UBI would lead to increased drug use, labor shortages, and hyperinflation. I think many people often forget the drastic intersects of race, gender, residence, socioeconomic background, family structure, etc. and the relationships between these categories.
