The time process is the passing of everything from the future, where it is not yet, through the present, where it now is, to the past, where it is no more. And this time stream is irreversible.
This is characteristic of all creaturely existence, this passing from the future through the present into the past. We are carried away by this time stream, and the stream of time goes incessantly, invariably and without interruption.
Here faith is truly active through love [Gal. 5:6], that is, it finds expression in works of the freest service, cheerfully & lovingly done, with which a man willingly serves another without hope of reward; & for himself he is satisfied with the fullness & wealth of his faith.
I grew up believing in a carrot or stick ethics, and I often obeyed out of fear and self-preservation. Can't thank enough Christ' church and pastor Robin for renewing my mind and showing me the blessing of obeying Christ because of His righteousness.

Heb 11:35-37
Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. 36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword.

The universe of time and space has always belonged to the Son since it was through his agency that it came into being. As the exalted Son and heir he rules over what was created through him in the beginning.
Peter T. O’Brien, The Letter to the Hebrews, PNTC
Being encouraged by Heb 1:1-4 on persevering in calling people to submit to Christ =)
When Jesus calls us to give up everything to follow Him, He is not robbing glory that does not belong to Him. He is calling the robbers to return the glory that has always belonged to Him.
Hebrews 1:1-2
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

The greatest protection a man can give to his wife while he is with her is not physical protection, but spiritual protection against the evil forces, by keeping her in the name of the Father, Son and Spirit, that we may be One as the Triune God is, and guarding her in the truth.
Second, it overlooks the question of why Christ had to die in order to save sinners. Why couldn’t he just speak salvation into being like he spoke creation into being?
Leeman, J. (2010). The Church and the Surprising Offense of God’s Love
We associate agape with grace and the idea of God’s love being “unconditional,” and we associate eros with works, righteousness, beauty, and the idea of “conditional” love. The problem is that this very true and wonderful emphasis on the free gift of God’s love is reductionistic.
First, it overlooks the divine Father’s love for the perfect Son. Where does that fit into the definition of “love”? There is no suffering or self-sacrifice in the Father’s love for the Son. It’s pure pleasure, and the pleasure is based on the Son’s moral beauty and perfection.
Since this is true of human life... how does our relation to Jesus Christ affect us? The answer of the New Testament is precisely these three words: we live in the past by faith; we live in the future by hope; we live in the present by love.
Faith, Hope and Love
By Emil Brunner
... until I discovered that the threefold totality (faith, hope, love) is related to a basic fact of man's existence as a human being — every man's existence is in the three dimensions of time. He lives in the past, in the future, and in the present.
