This theory is that it's wasn't just Caleb who was "heating up". But unknown to MC, she herself was also becoming extra sensitive to Caleb's presence. Caleb knew that; he just didn't want to tell her straight up.

1. The writers inserted the plot point that Anhausen class evolvers like MC would be more prone to being affected by polar night, and that Caleb knew this after reading the Evolver Health Handbook . This information is repeatedly hinted at but never explicitly addressed in the card.

2. Caleb has always felt warm to MC's touch, and this card isn't the only instance where she's described him as "burning" hot. However, in Passionate Overload, his presence and heat felt even more overwhelming than usual. This intensified sensation is likely due to the changes she was simultaneously experiencing. Throughout the narrative, there are numerous hints suggesting MC's own enhanced biological reactions and heightened sensitivity to Caleb.

3. There are a LOT of omegaverse references throughout the card. If Caleb was showing signs of being in an alpha rut... well, that means MC would've been in omega heat.
