My mom asked if my boys should watch the news coverage of Mr. Nichols’ beating. Told her they already had. If black kids their age (12 & 11) were old enough for “the talk”, my kids are old enough for it. And most of their friends are black & brown so they need to hear it too.

@CheyannaMarie97 My condolences. My daddy died a little over 2 years ago, on September 11 (yeah, I know). Most days, at 9:11, I seem to look at a clock or my phone and say “hi daddy”. Other days, I cry. I miss him. You just never know how it will hit.
