16 fucking years of One Direction!!! Blows my mind. Thank you for changing all our lives and the love and passion you all still show is unmatched! Tonight’s going to be a special show.
Spending the rest of the day listening to all the bangers and reminiscing! Thank you for all the memories.
And to my brother I Miss you every day but especially on days like today. I know we’d have been celebrating today together!
Lyon, France 🇫🇷 — show 15.
A few hours before the show, Louis took to X to let fans know he’d been unwell — but reassured everyone it wouldn’t stop the night:
“Spent all of yesterday in bed pretty ill… might just need your help a little more. If you’re coming tonight, sing your hearts out.”
And from the moment he stepped on stage — fashionably late, wrapped up in a grey Nike tracksuit — there was one detail that said it all: a cup of tea in hand. A small but very real reminder that he wasn’t at 100%, and was doing everything he could to get through the show.
Despite being under the weather, Louis sounded strong, pushing through the vocals while leaning on the crowd more than usual — inviting them in, encouraging them to sing louder, making it something shared from the very start.
After Out Of My System, he moved to the B-stage for Bigger Than Me, asking, “sing it with me, Lyon.” There were moments where you could see the strain, but also moments of real intention — pulling at his jumper during the chorus, as if feeling every word a little deeper tonight.
Between Bigger Than Me and Saturdays, he opened up to the crowd in a way that really set the tone for the night:
“I’m in the tracksuit today cause it’s a bit of a sick day… when you’re not in the best voice, it’s fucking terrifying. But when I know I’m coming out to you guys, I know I’ve got your support… that means the world, especially on days like this. Let’s do it together tonight.”
And that’s exactly what it became — a joint effort.
There was a surprise in the setlist too — Angels Fly was swapped out for Lucky Again, making only its second appearance this tour (and a very welcome one at that).
During Defenceless, Louis once again handed the bridge to the crowd, asking for their help — and they absolutely delivered.
A sweet moment came at the start of Just Hold On, where he acknowledged a fan sign asking him to “say hello to the livestream,” giving a small nod that didn’t go unnoticed.
After Lucky Again, he took a moment to pause and simply say:
“I fucking love you lot, I feel the love in here tonight.”
And from that point on, things seemed to settle a little — like he found his rhythm again.
During Lucid, a fan project lit up the crowd with coloured lights dancing across the arena. For a moment, it looked like Louis might miss it — eyes closed as he sang — but he caught it just in time, breaking into a smile as he took it all in.
His speech afterwards felt raw, a little scattered, but full of honesty:
“I feel the love… I feel your support… we’re fucking fighting, we’re having a big night in here tonight.”
And they were.
There were lighter moments too — reading fan signs, laughing at someone dressed as a carrot, and a cheeky interaction where he teased a fan over her selfie technique, joking that she didn’t quite have the angle right before showing her how it’s done. Small moments like that kept the connection alive throughout.
Kill My Mind saw the usual wave of lights fill the arena, and at the end, Louis took a moment to walk the stage, looking out at the crowd with what felt like pure appreciation.
The Answer was an emotional one. Despite everything, his vocals held, carrying the weight of the song — and at one point, he looked directly into the livestream, eyes glistening.
Before the final stretch, he shared one last message:
“I was feeling a bit sorry for myself… but this is a fanbase I wanna fight for. I fucking love you. I’m gonna give you everything I’ve got — you give everything you’ve got.”
And they did.
Palaces closed the night — but without the usual barricade jump. For the first time this tour, Louis skipped it, gesturing to the crowd that he wasn’t up to it tonight — and honestly, after everything he gave, no one could blame him.
Lyon — a night built on trust, support, and showing up for each other.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Louis. Sending love and healing hugs from Aus and NZ 🩵
