Awdal: A Key to National Unity and the Responsibility of the President of Somalia @HassanSMohamud
Awdal is a Somali region with a deep historical background, clear legal standing, and a firm political position based on the unity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. For many years, Awdal has been deliberately marginalized, despite being a strategically important area capable of playing a central role in safeguarding Somalia’s national unity and statehood.
Under the Somali Constitution, the President is the guardian of the country’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty. Therefore, remaining silent on the situation of Awdal directly contradicts the constitutional duties and responsibilities entrusted to the presidency.
Awdal is not seeking secession, nor is it pursuing any foreign agenda. Its demands are lawful and national in nature: recognition as a legitimate federal member state, protection of the rights of its citizens, and defense against political and security-related pressures.
If the President takes a courageous and principled stand in support of Awdal, he will strengthen Somalia’s unity, undermine separatist projects, and secure his place in history as a true national leader who upheld the foundations of the Somali state.
Day 3 in Borama 🚨
The beautiful Somali 🇸🇴 is still flying in the center of the city. May our flag forever shine in Borama and SNM secessionists somaliland never return 💪🏻
Allaah has given the Gadabursi the most beautiful and strategic land, with the most beautiful coast, located very close to Bab el-Mandeb the passage where the world’s ships pass. Yet, the ports of Awdal, such as Lughaya and Zeila, are still closed and undeveloped. We must build and open our own ports.
A meeting was held between the Prime Minister of Somalia and Ayatullahi Sultan Wabar, where they discussed issues of national unity, regional stability, and the role of traditional leadership in strengthening the Federal Government of Somalia. 🇸🇴🇬🇹 @HamzaAbdiBarre
