@Worldisastage11@CaptainPikeachu Cause ultimately she was just a hurt kid looking for her family. The point more was to foster Jean’s empathy, strength of character and compassion for later films.
@darkdefective@EmperorChris446 Yeah, but they and Zatanna are magical, which Batman typically isn’t. Constantine would be a better fit for this analogy.
@DetectiveSpade_ Low key an organized crime film is exactly the type of movie you should put Mr. negative in. Ideally it’d be a gang war between him, kingpin and Maggia.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG I liked that the movie revolved around helping someone who was lost, alone and was about to (knowingly) go down a very dark path. With Mr. negative you can maybe get Martin Li to help control the threat.
the choice of villain helps dictate what the arc of the story will be.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG Except you don’t get any of the chase scenes, the mystery as it stands, the primary motivation that could take the place of Sarah, nor do you get the final emotional stand off which is a result of sheer vulnerability and empathy.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG And like why him on a story where he zaps three major characters to find his pretend wife when he could invert all of damage control? Or launch a gang war? Putting him in this specific story is wasting him.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG Uh huh. This is still a massive change in the story, fyi. From motivation to modus operandi to power set to split persona, having mr. Negative would require an entire rewrite away from what was feature.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG Like you could’ve said Julia Carpenter. That’s a spider-man character with actual psychic abilities that with minimal finagling could fit the story that has a child who could take the place of Sarah as motivation.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG You don’t have someone who could read Peter Parker’s mind and find someone who has experienced pain and suffering.
Plus Martin Li isn’t a person hurt by society. He would more start a gang war than anything else.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG Unlocked was the ability to project her psyche at a limited distance.
Also? Martin Li is not a mutant, but was altered by D-Lite. His primary motivation is destroying the Maggia, not saving a relative.
Adding him without changing him is ostensibly a huge change to the story.
@JackCraka114646@GregHeffleyOG Jean gray was mentally projecting into people in the movie, and Mr. negative can corrupt/invert people’s personalities in a manner that benefits him, but it’s not total control. Also? It requires physical contact. A big part of the film before her full abilities
@forpalestine300 I mean, typically there’s more than one “Hulk” rattling around in Bruce’s mind. Even if they aren’t doing the multiple personalities, this is potentially first time “hulk” has been out since before endgame.
