This guy was almost Vice President.
He’s celebrating that an American company (which produces the most American-made cars on the market) is losing value, purely due to political differences.
A TON OF THINGS HAPPENED TODAY IN THE STOCK MARKET.
Here's a full recap:
1. Rocket Lab $RKLB reported Q4 2024 earnings in line with expectations, posting an EPS of -$0.10 and revenue of $132 million, slightly beating estimates of $130 million. However, its Q1 2025 revenue guidance of $123 million fell short of the expected $136 million, leading to a negative market reaction. CEO Sir Peter Beck highlighted 2024 as a record-breaking year, with annual revenue reaching $436.2 million and Q4 revenue surging 382% compared to Q4 2021. He also emphasized significant progress on the Neutron program, which is set for its debut launch in the second half of 2025. Despite strong performance, the stock dropped 15% after hours.
2. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed that GPT-4.5 is ready but facing a delayed rollout due to GPU shortages. Describing it as the first model that truly feels like conversing with a thoughtful person, Altman admitted it has even astonished him at times. However, its massive size and cost mean OpenAI must stagger access instead of launching it broadly to Plus and Pro users. Tens of thousands of GPUs are arriving next week, with hundreds of thousands more to follow. While GPT-4.5 isn’t designed to dominate benchmarks, Altman says it introduces a new kind of intelligence with a unique “magic” he hasn’t felt before.
3. The U.S. economy grew at an annualized rate of 2.3% in Q4 2024, the slowest pace in three quarters, down from 3.1% in Q3 but in line with estimates. Personal consumption remained the primary driver, rising 4.2%, the fastest since Q1 2023, with spending increasing for both goods and services. Net trade made a positive contribution as exports declined less than expected and imports fell more than anticipated, while government spending also exceeded initial estimates. However, fixed investment contracted further due to a sharp drop in equipment spending, though residential investment rose slightly more than projected. Meanwhile, initial jobless claims surged by 22,000 to 242,000 in mid-February, the highest in over two months, signaling a deviation from the previously tight labor market.
4. $HOOD Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev recently revealed plans to potentially introduce startup investing for Robinhood users, a move that could revolutionize access to private markets. Currently, secondary markets for startups like Discord, Stripe, and OpenAI are limited to those with industry connections, but Robinhood aims to change that by enabling startup employees to sell shares directly to retail investors. This could create one of the largest secondary markets for private companies, offering retail investors earlier access to high-growth startups. Tenev questioned why it's easier to buy a memecoin than to invest in SpaceX, highlighting Robinhood’s vision to democratize private investing.
5. President Trump announced that the proposed tariffs on Mexico and Canada will take effect as planned on March 4, along with an additional 10% tariff on China. He also confirmed that the reciprocal tariff set for April 2 will proceed as scheduled. Trump also signed a new DOGE Executive Order requiring federal agencies to implement a technology solution to review and reduce all expenditures, track employee spending with clear identification, and report to a DOGE liaison.
6. YouTube star 'MrBeast' company is now raising funds at a $5 billion valuation. Beast Holdings LLC, the parent company of Feastables, Lunchly, and MrBeast's video production arm, generated over $400 million in revenue in 2024. The company has secured over $250 million in commitments from Amazon $AMZN for additional seasons of the "Beast Games" TV show.
7. Figure AI, a humanoid robot company, has officially announced plans today to introduce robots into homes, accelerating its timeline by two years. While robots have long been used in factories, integrating them into everyday life presents a new challenge—interacting with real people in real-world settings. Driven by rapid advancements in its end-to-end AI model, Helix, Figure is now confident enough to begin alpha testing home robots this year. If these robots can perform meaningful tasks in homes by the end of 2025, this technological revolution may be unfolding even faster than anticipated.
8. Earnings today: Dell $DELL posted solid earnings, beating EPS estimates and announcing a $10 billion share buyback, though Q1 guidance fell short of expectations. Dell’s infrastructure solutions segment grew strongly, particularly in AI servers, with an ongoing $9 billion AI server backlog. Duolingo $DUOL Duolingo delivered strong revenue and user growth, with bookings up 42% YoY, while reaffirming its commitment to AI-driven learning expansion. SoundHound AI $SOUN saw revenue double YoY, beat EPS estimates, and made key strategic partnerships in automotive, healthcare, and retail AI applications.
9. Here's what Bank of America said on $NVDA post Q4 earnings. "We reiterate our Buy rating with a $200 PT on NVDA as the company remains in a dominant position of leading the AI market towards compute-intensive inference, agentic applications, and physical AI/robotics. Despite multiple headwinds (DeepSeek, Blackwell transition, China restrictions), NVDA reported 78% YoY growth in FQ4 sales ($39.3bn, 3% ahead of consensus), while guiding FQ1 to $43bn, about $1bn ahead and up 66% YoY. FQ4 included nearly $11bn of Blackwell sales, well above the $4-$7bn expectations, providing reassurance the product is on track. However, the cost of ramping Blackwell is driving down GM (71% in FQ1 vs 72% consensus, likely stays flattish into Q2, before recovering in 2H)."
10. Cash held by U.S. equity mutual funds has dropped to just 1.3% of total assets, the lowest level on record and even below the 1.5% seen at the start of the 2022 bear market. Over the past two years, cash levels have steadily declined as the bull market surged, contrasting sharply with the 2008-2020 period when cash balances averaged nearly three times higher. Meanwhile, Warren Buffett’s $BRK.B Berkshire Hathaway has taken the opposite approach, with its cash share of total assets rising to a record 29% in Q4 2024.
11. Pending home sales in the U.S. dropped 4.6% in January 2025, following a revised 4.1% decline in December, pushing the index to a record low of 70.6—far worse than the expected 1.3% decline. Sales fell sharply in the South (-9.2%), declined in the Midwest (-2%) and West (-1.2%), but saw a slight increase in the Northeast (+0.3%). While the coldest January in 25 years may have impacted demand, affordability remains a key challenge due to high home prices and mortgage rates.
12. Total money market fund assets rose by $60.54 billion to $6.97 trillion for the week ending February 26, 2025. Taxable money market funds saw the largest inflows, with government funds increasing by $52.97 billion and prime funds by $5.84 billion, while tax-exempt funds grew by $1.72 billion. This marks a reversal from the past 2 weeks in which money market funds saw $15B in outflows.

I don’t get it… You’re burning the flag of the country that you illegally entered & want to stay in; but you’re waving the flag of the country that you fled from & don’t want to be deported back to… 🤔🤔🤔
