Wifi 7 devices finally launching in India. For now, tp-link is launching access points. Routers are expected to be getting ready too. We will be able to use the 6GHz band finally in India.
๐ฎ๐ณ TP-Link has started manufacturing Wi-Fi 7 products in India.
The move comes after India opened the lower 6 GHz band for unlicensed use earlier this year, paving the way for wider Wi-Fi 7 adoption in the country.
The first product being manufactured locally is the Omada EAP770, a Wi-Fi 7 access point (AP). Unlike a traditional router that manages internet traffic, an access point is used to provide high-speed Wi-Fi coverage and is commonly deployed in offices, campuses, hospitals, hotels, retail stores and educational institutions.
TP-Link says around 92% of the products it sells in India are already made locally, and the company plans to increase that figure to 96-97% within the next three years.
As more Wi-Fi 7 smartphones, laptops and networking devices enter the market, local manufacturing could help accelerate adoption of next-generation wireless technology across India. ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ถ
