China’s exploitation of Nigeria? What exactly does that mean in the context of this discussion? Assuming that’s still where we are at.

Chinese manufacturers mass produce commodities in China at cheap prices. Nigerian traders go there, buy them at wholesale prices, ship them back home and sell them at outrageous margins, hiding behind the cost of shipping and clearing.

Now, having understood that there is a huge market here, Chinese manufacturers are simply taking the next step. They will continue to mass produce items Nigerians need at scale, but this time, they’ll ship it down (pay for customs and clearing) and sell directly to Nigerian consumers at cheaper prices.

And somehow, that is the problem?

What exactly did we build in the first place?

What local industry is being displaced by making everyday products cheaper and more accessible to the average Nigerian?

What exactly are we protecting when the only serious argument against cheaper Chinese goods is that they threaten the margins of people who have been importing those same Chinese goods and reselling them here?

If we want to rejuvenate football we need to curb the over reliance on stat padding and G/A.

EPL as a case study; after GW3 Bruno has 4 G/A and he’s been only decent in only 1 game.
