@seaninroundhay@RAF_Luton Phew! That's a relief; we can stand down the SCS (like SAS but Councillors), but obviously not until after they've been relieved of their soft furnishings!
@pinstripedline I'm told that before Civil Servants can wear their equivalent rank badges, they will have to complete a 3 or 6 month (depending on rank) residential course where they will learn the basics of saluting and polishing their shoes/trainers. Has @RAF_Luton bid for the contract? ๐ค
@seaninroundhay@RAF_Luton Can they use the Rhino poo biofuel in the grey Canberras as well as the green ones? ๐ค (just asking for a friend). If there's any discrimination on the basis of colour, we might have to scramble (sorry Sophie) the SCS (like SAS but Councillors) with their comfy chairs!
@JohnApplebyLD@RAF_Luton If I remember my history CSE correctly, wasn't the war of the Roses settled after some Quality Street fighting followed by Celebrations for Allsorts of combatants? ๐ค
@legacyJed@BobLoblaw2023@RAF_Luton I think you're right. It's one day out because it's the last of the old leap years - before decimalisation when the rules changed - I think you have to divide the year by 4 now, but only if it starts on a Wednesday (because of half-day closing).
@gazza_d I guess in the fully autonomous motor vehicle future, vehicles will negotiate priority with each other over WiFi; but how will they negotiate with pedestrians, cyclists, motorbikes and horses, etc.? Perhaps they'll just stop 'till the vulnerable road users are out of range? ๐ค
@R007pert@RAF_Luton I'm not an expert, but doesn't SAAB mean Scania Aeroflyingthingies AB (apparently AB is like Ltd but in Swedish and shorter)? ๐ค
However, I, too, am puzzled by the pointy thingy in the picture.
@HidingSmith@RAF_Luton Apparently it had its knockers and only two were ever made. I was fortunate to see them performing together in a display - they were a magnificent pair of B16/B-0085 ๐ณ
@SonraiP @shaunwkeaveny Yes, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, have regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely have drawn their plans against us. Those Oliver Postgate documentaries were true!
@EatKnuckleFritz You can probably just make out one of @RAF_Luton's Canberras beneath it... and beneath that a Buccaneer pushing its high altitude envelope to its extreme limits ๐ค
@Swisscheese80 What happens to the aircraft that want to fly East to West and vice versa? Do you hand them to another controller or just send them home with their tail between their legs? ๐ค
@Betterpolo @RAF_Luton I believe it's one of those optical illusions - the Hurricanes are actually the same size as the Vulcan, but because the Canberra was inverted, the lens makes it look like they are different sizes (my mate works in the film industry and he said that's how they film 3D movies) ๐ค
