Happened to watch #DoubleOccupancy today, a fantasy drama built around the unique concept of two souls inhabiting a single body. The story revolves around a couple who do not believe in God and have been struggling with childlessness for many years. Eventually, they pray for a child and are blessed with a baby boy. However, within minutes of birth, the child dies. Heartbroken, the parents question God, asking whether this was the reason they had finally turned to Him. Miraculously, the child comes back to life, but now as a girl. From that day onward, the child grows up living as a girl from 6 AM to 6 PM, and as a boy from 6 PM to 6 AM. Since the child is born on Superstar Rajinikanth's birthday, the parents name the child Rajini.

As time passes, the two souls sharing the same body begin to develop feelings of hatred towards one another. After losing their parents at a young age, Rajini is forced to move to Chennai in search of a livelihood. During the day, the female Rajini works in a genetics research company, while at night, the male Rajini takes up a job at a club. Interestingly, both personalities fall in love separately, the female Rajini with a co-worker, and the male Rajini with a woman who frequents the club with her friends. The complications arising from their inability to reveal the truth to their respective partners, the problems they face, and their attempts to find solutions make up the rest of the story. Whether these two souls ultimately succeed in their respective love stories forms the emotional core of the film.

Santhosh plays the male Rajini, while Reshma Venkatesh portrays the female Rajini. Bose Venkat and Vinodhini appear as Rajini's parents. Although the parental roles are limited to a few scenes, both @DirectorBose and @VinodhiniUnoffl leave a strong impression with their performances. @Reshmavenkat01 shines in her role, while Santhosh and Reshma's lively performances make the film highly enjoyable.

The chemistry and dilemmas faced by both versions of Rajini, their hesitation to reveal the truth to their lovers, the resulting conflicts and complications, and their efforts to overcome them, keep the narrative engaging throughout. @vinoth_kishan, playing the lover of female Rajini, and @samyukthavv, who portrays the love interest of male Rajini, help move the story forward effectively. VTV Ganesh, introduced as Raju from Raju Steels, ensures that the entertainment quotient never dips. Villains Bugs and @vichuviswanath sir have also performed their respective roles convincingly.

Director @aswin_tweet deserves credit for converting such an unusual idea into an engaging screenplay and presenting it effectively on screen. Cinematographer @santhadop has captured every sequence in a manner befitting the fantasy genre. The music, however, is only average and does not leave a lasting impression.

Although the story itself is devoid of logic, the film manages to make the audience wonder whether events would unfold in a similar manner if such a phenomenon were to exist in reality. Earlier, Tamil cinema explored ideas like body swapping and one person leading multiple lives. Double Occupancy updates these themes for the present era, blending them with contemporary sensibilities and technological advancements.

The film's climax features a cameo appearance by @khushsundar, followed by several intriguing developments that pave the way for the next chapter. With Rajini making way for Kamal, the movie clearly hints at the continuation of the story in a sequel.

Dear Vijay,

1. I recollect a phone call with you last year in which you told me that my tweets give you a lot of encouragement". So I take liberty to write to you assuming you may read this.
2. You started governance on a great note. You have enthralled the whole of TN.
3. Often good governance is overshadowed by irresponsible statements or press karathus or interviews.
4. Take the example of your MDU Central MLA Mustafa. There was no need for him to blabber. But he did it.
5. Now tonight the entire national media will debate this. TN media will debate this. This debate will divert the mood of people.
6. Think carefully what I told you. Even BJP voters and Right Wing voters are voting you. They were voting you because they were fatigued by DMK. But Mustafa just tried his best to show that TVK is no different from DMK.
7. Having seen blunderheads for a long time in politics and how they damage good work and how they end up distracting voters, my advice to you is to order all your MLAs to focus on work instead of making stupid and irresponsible pathetic statements to divide society.
8. Sanathanam is not caste system. Yes please condemn caste system by all means but educate your MLAs that Sanathanam means the Indian way of life as we practice daily. Four years ago, I sat down with my 12-year-old daughter in the US and told her I was walking away from a successful tech career and real estate business to return to India for public service and politics.

At that age, she didn’t realize “public life” would slowly take her Appa away from her for months… and years.

It cost several ten lakhs of hard-earned money - just for this village alone. But more than money, it cost time… family moments… and precious years watching my daughter grow up from far away.

Then elections came.

And the same village chose a candidate who had barely visited them in five years.

In the end, one week of election-time money defeated four years of sincere service.

Yesterday, my daughter quietly asked me over video call:

“Appa… can you now tell me what exactly politics is?”

For the first time in my life, I did not have an answer for my chellaponnu.

Tamilnadu assembly elections 2026. Not sure how this post will go down. But I dont care for popularity of a post. If it has to be said, will say it.

1. Both the DMKs might be prefering to drag this to President's rule.
2. They may be betting that the euphoria with TVK may not last.
3. TVK was the Mattram-Pudusu choice. But the moment they rushed to Congress, the Stale tag gets attached and the Pudusu tag gets rusted.
4. Congress won 5 Mlas due to mostly DMK voters. Yes they have some captive vote in Kaniyakumari, but none in rest of TN. In a reelection, Tvk will almost lose seats given to Congress.
5. I can say with lot of certainty that huge nos of Admk/Bjp voters who sensed that Tvk was in a position to lead/defeat Dmk and who voted Tvk will now go back to Admk/Bjp. To these nationalistic minded voters, Congress is a rusted anti national bucket, it is a symbol of corruption.
6. Tvk came as a symbol of change and as a symbol of newness but the rush to embrace blundering guys like Selvaperundugai is neither newness nor real change.
7. In my long TN travels, voters wanted Tvk to fight alone. That shows courage. But the euphoria might have dipped due to association with rejects and sadela maal as they say in Hindi.
8. Hint to Vijay. Tejaswi did massive huge yatras with Rahul in 2025, got wiped out. Akhilesh fought with Rahul as -Two UP boys in UP 2017, was completely routed.

Vijay. You might be a leftist and you might have secular ideas. And Rahul might be a common ideology friend who calls you often on phone. But keep that friendship at arm's distance. Not for nothing he is called Pappu. Nobody ever had any good political innings with Congress together with them.
