@helenbetya Preordered the moment I saw this. Can't wait to read it, excited to learn that there are two to look forward to! P.S. I can relate to 'trash heap' and 'inexplicably here.' Can't say why I haven't deleted my account just yet, but seeing this post justifies the inexplicable delay.
@GDess The best take? Seriously? An infantile, AI assisted exercise in Trump apologetics (assuming for the moment and against my better judgement that the human contribution was a skosh more than a compound prompt)?
@CalltoActivism To those who insist on arguing that the 14th amendment says 'subject to the jurisdiction' rather than 'within the jurisdiction,' read the amendment. It says both. For those who argue that 'jurisdiction' here applies only to citizens, look up the definition of 'jurisdiction.'
@ancawrites 'Can you even see this?' I hear that! This place is a trainwreck, but Instagram is a qualitatively different kind of forum, and Bluesky has yet to gain traction. Haven't tried Threads yet, but I wish there was a viable alternative to this. <sigh>
@3ammagazine This is a fantastic interview, one of the best I've read where the discussion between writer and interlocutor revolves around a specific work (as opposed to, say, writing in general). Actually, 'one of the best' feels like an understatement just now.
@mdbell79 @Aaron__Burch Either that, or maybe it means there's consistency in the way we think (which I suppose can be a double-edged sword, but I'm looking at it as a positive here).
@anthgarrett Posts like thisโthat lure me down a rabbit hole that opens up a world for me I didnโt know existedโare why I come here and havenโt deleted my account. I was not aware of her (donโt know what that says about me, though it can't be favorable), but now I am. Thank You.
@RossMcMeekin@thirtywestph Just preordered! (Would have done so sooner, but I've been engaged in the shell game with money that some of us are forced by circumstances to play at times.) Looking forward to reading it!
@kslunstrum @marisasaystweet @northwesternup Congratulations!!! I will preorder it at the first opportunity. As for the editor who told you it was 'too dark,' I'm glad you're getting the last laugh; I find inspiration in that.
@GabrielleBates Judas Goat provides compelling evidence that your novel-in-progress is not terrible (in any way, shape, or form), so I hope you keep working on it, and that it finds its way into the world. Regrettably, I've got nothing on the apartment front.
@RossMcMeekin@thirtywestph@jdalewrites I'm looking forward to it! Love the title too. The eponymous story is an intensely evocative and sublimely crafted piece of writing; it would be a worthy standard-bearer for any collection. Congratulations, Ross!
