@SwordMasterPub@kb_french@SoteriologyA1 Politely asking questions that pertain to this exact philosophical topic is playing games and being slippery? Have I been rude? Not sure how I warranted this type of response. It seems you wish to avoid being pressed further to the logical conclusion of your belief. Good day
@SwordMasterPub@kb_french@SoteriologyA1 Interesting. So that definition of true love only applies to men perhaps. Will we be able to choose to not love God at any given moment when we are in heaven?
@SwordMasterPub@kb_french@SoteriologyA1 Would you agree that contradicts your previous statement that true love requires choice, assuming you believe the love the Father has for the Son is true love?
@SwordMasterPub@kb_french@SoteriologyA1 Out of curiousity, within the eternal loving relationship of the triune Godhead, can the Son choose not to love the Father? Or vice versa? If not, is the love still “true love”?
@troywojick Yes this is what compatibilism is, God can ordain an event take place and the creature is still responsible. We saw this with Jesus and the cross. The allow/permit view does not solve any problems, it still has God “responsible” if He created the creature knowing he would do it
@rootcausesleuth Could he have been wrong about Peter considering it hadnt happened yet? Could Peter have done otherwise? Or was Gods knowledge of the future event, perfect?
@rootcausesleuth How does that work with prophecy? How did Jesus know peter would choose to deny Him 3 times if the choices hadnt been made yet? That seems to require exhaustive foreknowledge unless it was a lucky prediction
@rootcausesleuth The questions only apply if you believe God knows the future exhaustively. It seems you may be an open theist? He knew it was possible but didnt know he certainly would sin?
@5solas Not a hill to die on in my opinion. Many christian scientists recognize the overwhelming evidence of an old earth (billions of years). This doesnt mean they hold to macroevolution or that humans evolved from apelike ancestors.
@TorahMike@5solas This is correct, hypothyroidism can have a small impact on basal metabolic rate which can be accounted for by tracking calorie/food intake. Obesity is always preventable.
@5solas@Gojo1471498@willycooper This is incorrect. Hypothyroidism can have a small impact on basal metabolic rate, which can easily be adjusted for. Being fat is ALWAYS preventable, and ALWAYS caused by eating too much. I’ve helped people with thyroid issues lose bodyfat the same as everyone else.
@ReformedCaio Interesting youre saying this. He is legit the only person I have muted on this entire app. Glad someone else has noticed. I tried engaging with him many times and it always felt so hostile and uncharitable.
@rootcausesleuth Yes, its much more loving to call someone to make a change rather than say nothing, even if they have trouble hearing it. I also think it would be healthy for church elders to hold themselves and the pastor accountable, lovingly of course. To set a healthy example for members
@rootcausesleuth At the end of the day its about finding the most easy and efficient way to keep yourself in a caloric deficit. For me it was a heavy focus on protein/fiber intake. And tracking every calorie i ate. Calories in, calories out is the only way. Myfitnesspal App was/is my best friend
@5solas There are old earthers who dont hold to macroevolution. Myself for example, the earth is clearly billions of years old, but God made Adam and Eve as humans made in His image much more recently. They didnt evolve.
@Jondaphemp Men much wiser, more sanctified, and loving than you have agreed these arent issues worth dividing over, but discussing. We can all see your posts. They’re embarassing. Ive genuinely only seen 1 other man of “faith” on this app with more hate and division in his words. Do better
@Jondaphemp I guarantee you couldnt handle your views being pressed to their logical conclusions without either appealing to mystery or using a you too fallacy and attacking calvinism instead. I desire a higher caliber of free will theism.
