News from Victoria's Forests! Exposing the government's logging destruction of our forests in the face of widespread demand to protect public forests for good!
#GunaiKurnaiCountry: So incredible to come across these #Glossyblackcockatoos, sadly they are feeding in forest scheduled for burning. The unburnt forest btwn Lake Entrance and the Snowy River is the heartland of the VIC Glossy population, which numbers only 35-40 individuals.
1000s of big, old hollow-bearing trees, essential for Greater Glider survival, are burnt every year in the name of fire management. Support @ourstrathforest court case https://t.co/lJvkrjP6RX
@TimRRead We need conservationists & ecologists looking after forests, not loggers & foresters who've treated them so badly for so long, including their fire management practices which is just more bulldozing & burning. At the least forest management must be moved to the biodiversity dept.
We're finally at the finish line! Whatever the results today - we made protection of native forests a massive issue this election! Beyond grateful for everything we've achieved together - we couldn't have done it without YOU! Thank you all so much 💚💚

… walked into active logging coupes to halt the destruction of crucial carbon stores. He has raised thousands of seedlings for local landcare groups.
Good luck tomorrow, Campbell. The forest needs you in Parliament🤞
@CampbellGomeGrn has fought for our native forests for years. Here he is up a tree in Treasury Gardens in solidarity with East Gippy communities opposing logging of unburnt wildlife refuges. He’s spent hours in the forest at night surveying for endangered Gliders. He has…
@merri_forests Everything about native forest logging stinks to high heaven. It is absolutely insane to be logging native forests. Our native forests should be managed for the ecosystem services they are best at providing - water catchment protection, wildlife habitat and carbon store.
Incredible that once again community groups like the @alliance_forest are left to reveal the shocking flaws in Victoria's nature protections.
The sooner native forest logging ends the better. The @DanielAndrewsMP must close down & liquidate VicForests.
From @eastgippyforest; after the devastating 2019/2020 bushfires which ravaged eastern Vic, remaining native forests must be protected now. We know how important this issue is leading up to the state election. It's time for a rapid end to native forest logging.

Yet another example of the Victorian Labor party’s cynical approach to environment and biodiversity. Hollow promises as a smokescreen for ongoing destruction.
