@TheAthleticFC The key problem is trying to find definitive decisions for subjective situations. People point to video review being sucessful in leagues like the NFL but there are a ton of subjective penalties, such as holding and pass interference which are not elegible for video replay.
@adamsummerton The problem with VAR is that people perfect decisions of subjective situations. It was a lot easier to go home after a game after a dubious refereeing decision, over one that a TV booth have overanalyzed for 5 minutes and still ended up with a hugely controversial decision.
@JeffStelling Even if it has hit his hand, his ability to move his arm has been clearly impacted by the player who got out jumped and holds his arm up in that position. Absurd decision however you see it.
@Brad604 Yeah my worry is the sound is so...well...alarming...that people smash their phone like an alarm clock to turn it off and don't read the message. I think the option to change it to something softer, or a voice announcement that an amber alert has been issued would be better.
@Wasteland_Memes@afcroyce From the terrible guidance and angles the head VAR have given Kavanagh, I don't blame him at all for making the decision he did. They never showed him Trossard's involvement in not letting his man jump properly.
@afcroyce The head VAR has absolutely messed up there. He dismisses his AVAR's concern about Trossard, tells the referee to look at "other incidents" and whilst Kavanagh has people yelling all around him gives him very little help/angles to know what the Trossard incident is all about.
@eastendonx First time I've seen one of these that doesn't end in "good process lads". Probably becuase they know they had a shocker. When the referee has to ask "I don't know what you're trying to show me, give me a clue" they know they've botched it.
@Mark71166@CarefreeLewisG Lol, right. I've been shaking my head at some of the anger, it's quite close to our 1970 FA Cup final shirt.
My favourite shirt of recent times was the FA Cup retro one we wore a few years ago which is miles better than this new one IMO, but I'm an old man in training so...
@AdvFtbAcad As the strength and conditioning portion of a larger training plan, no problems with it. I wouldn't be incororating the ball in this specific situation though - the pressure is too central and static, no work needs to be done to shield the defender coming around the sides.
@Thompsonalysis@HarJournalist Surely Axel had to be in line for a gigantic bonus if the sale goes through. They've put him in a pretty ridiculous situation these last 18 months being the handcuffed voice for the absentee owners.
Today is an especially sad day for us.
On this day every year, scores of Vancouverites would meet at Hastings Racecourse to celebrate the start of our new racing season and take in the "the most exciting two minutes in sport" - the Kentucky Derby. (1/4)
@anguswalker@tylergreenFC Bringing an MLS franchise was huge but he will absolutely decimate the footballing environment across BC if he does this. Everything all the way down to the grassroots youth level will be deeply damaged if the Whitecaps leave. In a once in a generation World Cup year...
@aftncanada In fairness finding out that he was tech savvy enough to have a burner account (albeit accidently not switch to it in this occasion) left me with a more positive impression of Garber than beforehand ๐
@aftncanada The longer this horrible saga plays out and in the absence of an eager local bidder, the more it seems that the accomodations that the City and Province have already made have been a big hinderance for the Caps ownership "blame the government" narrative.
@count_gema@WhitecapsFC They already shut down Hastings Racecourse and paved the way for a sweetheart lease on parkland to keep them. There isn't much more a responsible government should be doing here.
@Mssv77@Blue_Footy@EuanBRobertson@TMuk_news Combining Lampard's two stints is a bit harsh though and brings his number down. The caretaker shift was just a process of safeguarding the burning dumpster.
